One aspect of the journey of self-mastery that we love is that it doesn't have to be a lonely journey- it's one you can walk and share with others, such as those in this community or with a Coach or friend. What we also love is that it doesn't have to be long and slow, there are tools and "shortcuts" that we have available to us that can help us fast-track some aspects of the journey.
Psychometric Assessments, Tools & Frameworks
One of the tools available to us are psychometric assessments and their accompanying theoretical frameworks. These come in many many forms and approaches. If you work in a corporate company you might have encountered the popular MBTI or Meyers Briggs as it is called which helps assign one to one of 16 different personality combinations or traits based on various factors.
Why tools like this are helpful is that they can help us see aspects about ourselves that we might not clearly see. Or, perhaps those close to us see these things and have told us, but it's hard for us to receive and accept about ourselves because of the nature of the feedback coming from someone so close to us. These kinds of tools offer us the words and vocabulary to name these things we might believe, say and do as well as a framework for growth and development: a way to nurture and grow our strengths and improve on our less supportive ways.
